My Approach
Melissa understands the importance of a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship for meaningful therapy to take place. At the center of all her work Melissa focuses on building a safe relationship where you can feel seen, heard, and valued.

Over time, Melissa has developed an integrative and trauma informed approach to counselling, which is tailored to each client's individual needs. Melissa uses a systemic approach that acknowledges each individual in relation to their family, community and society as a whole.
Melissa will draw from a variety of approaches including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to explore how thoughts and emotions can impact your overall well-being as well as improve interconnectivity between your mind, body and relationships.

Melissa will use Emotion Focused Family Therapy to support parents/caregivers and individuals to identify, cope with, regulate and transform their emotions with the hope of improving relationships with themselves and their loved ones.

It brings Melissa enjoyment to assist clients in connecting with their inner strength and over come challenges they are facing.
